Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! We hope you all enjoyed your holiday break. This year is starting off a little differently than expected but we are trying our best to keep everything as normal as possible for the children. We had lots of fun in December decorating our classroom, making hot chocolate and reindeer food to take home & singing lots of Christmas songs. Our favourite was ‘Feliz Navidad’!
In January we will be learning all about ourselves. We will start by exploring our five senses with sensory materials such as water beads, rice and pasta and we will also make a texture board to play with. We will learn the names of all the different part of our bodies and how to look after our teeth. At circle time we will talk about what happens when we go to the doctor and the dentist and role play these situations as this will help the children to better understand them. We will also be talking about healthy and unhealthy foods, the food pyramid, using apples to paint different patterns and tasting different fruits.
We will be practicing our letters up to N and counting up to 6. Our shape of the month is a diamond and our colour of the month is blue. Any new learning will be reviewed again when all children return to crèche.
